A NATIONAL REPUTATION FOR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION, QUALITY AND INNOVATION
In 2015, we changed our name to Acuity Finishing. This change reflects our successful growth from a bindery to a comprehensive print finishing business. It also reflects our commitment to what matters most — providing the extra care and precision in our work to make every job a truly inspired job.
Today, we are the regional leader in print finishing, offering full-service bindery, custom finishing and specialty services from our state-of-the-art facility.
We got our start as Plastikoil of Pennsylvania in 1984, when Don and Marian Barkley became the first United States dealer of Plastikoil® with a single punch machine and coil inserter. Don’s work ethic to do “whatever it took” to get the job done for the customer earned us a national reputation for customer satisfaction, quality and innovation.
The Barkley family grew the company into a full-service bindery by implementing new ideas, adding modern equipment to expand its capabilities and building lasting partnerships with customers, suppliers and a forward-thinking workforce. In 2003, the company moved its operations into a new, 45,000-square-foot facility in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania.
In June 2012, the company was acquired by Don Stoebe and Rick Ubinger, former high school classmates, who provide additional operational and financial expertise to the management team. They are committed to continuing the exceptional service to customers established by the Barkley family through relentlessly improving quality, service and innovation. We strive to deliver inspired finishing that makes the difference.
